In this great tradition of the eminence of detail, all the minutiae of Christian education, of scholastic or military pedagogy, all forms of 'training' found their place easily enough.-- Michel Foucault. Discipline and Punish: The Birth of the Prison, p 140
It is difficult to remember how frightened we all were in the year after 9/11, and most analysts believed, at least before the timeline became cogent, that Muhammad and his protege signaled the dawn of a new era. As far as mass murders go, Muhammad was atypical, not an impulse spree killer like the Aura shooter. The discipline he displayed was true anarchy against the state, at least initially, and biography is a bit disingenuous with its quick facts. Muhammad was a solder first and foremost, and then a domestic terrorist in the last months of his life, and probably has more affinity with Lee Harvey Oswald than we would care to credit. Both men were molded for the sake of the national defense, and both the assassin and the serial sniper had a degree of temerity rare when it comes to treasonous behavior, if one accepts that Oswald was a lone actor.
This is the price we pay for being the sole animal able to manipulate biology and body to the aerodynamic extent that we do, as Foucault's analysis explores, a homosexual so fascinated with control and assembly, ironically to pay an exorbitant price, perhaps unwittingly, for his own sexual desire.
The digital age has made us aware, conversely, of how rapidly we're superseding our own bipedal engineering, toppled in hubris by complex financial instruments and proxy conflicts which could trigger global aggression of some sort, especially as Turkish destabilization is not a headache NATO needs on its plate. Not that anyone cares what an impoverished spastic thinks, but it might be time for NATO to close ranks against Putin's recidivist incursions. Russia is hardly in a position to re-establish its Soviet empire, and could be stopped with a firm display of unity and muscle. Let Isis have what it wants. The US made Iraq ungovernable in an ideological argument with extremism that it failed to win, hence, let the new Islamists create their modern caliphate. They'll evolve. Everything does.

Lacan Theory
I am basically an adherent of Slavoj Zizek without having the benefit of studying the controversial philosopher's theory. Where the former Yugoslavian and I differ is on the willingness to use violence when the paradigm is otherwise too firmly entrenched for adjudication. Granted, every example I have cherry picked on this DIA account has been flawed, inclusive of the Oregon shooter, which, unlike Cohn, I almost did not want to reflect upon in any manner, but like Zizek, I believe liberalism's egalitarianism makes things worse and leads to genocidal outcomes.
However, after watching yet another punk academic, which Zizek is, being interviewed by Smiley, of whom, as you know, I'm not the greatest fan, I have to say that Kirsch's essay in The New Republic calling Zizek anti-Semitic was nothing short of libel, testament to Marty's dwindling zealotry for the state of Israel at the expense of anything else, including a man's reputation. The days when a TNR intern made me shit myself by telling me how to get a diarist column in the stodgy old periodical are over, but I would feel like a hypocrite sending them content with Chris Hughes at the helm, and this is utterly nonsensical for a woman of my intellect, however much she frittered away that potential on the slow envelop of emotional anguish, but I am actually against homosexuals themselves-- not-- mostly not-- to the point of interring them-- but enough that I cannot swallow my conviction to send TNR work, to their standards. I mourn this, because I fell in love with TNR under Marty, my fake adversary.
Before I break down in tears, the American rogue who comes closest to deploying violence for methodical agenda is the DC sniper. John Allen was certainly driven by his own internal dynamic, but for those of us with an insurrectionist bent, his tactics were admirable, and if he had been more like the ISIS leader, developing an agenda, a counter argument to the American Way might have given us more of the South American dynamic.
That the US doesn't have its own Shining Path is attributable to the Civil War, and making guerrillas like Jesse James into celebrities.

Humidity, Organic Plummer
Last week, Ms. Rubin castigated the GOP, presumably due to Trump's rise into the second tier, and I believe this is the link to her commentary:
I have little to opine on Trump's comments, even if the murder in San Francisco fueled them. Perhaps Twinkie city might want to rethink how it cooperates with our federale keystone cops in the future. With this concession in mind, Donald Trump is a shyster and a con artist, and militarizing the border with Mexico by aping Israel's concrete bunker mentality is not a solution to Latino population pressure to retake the Americas that those of European descent took with the horse and bayonet. But where I part company with Jennifer is on her chastisement toward moderation in conservative alarm. If Trump is successfully tapping in to Caucasian unease, it is precisely Caucasian unease for which I've taken my lumps on this account, and, while I cannot say that jingoism will destroy the GOP of Senator Toomey and John Boehner, the American left is out of its mind, and we'll see far worse than Trump in the future if progressives truly believe that erasure is going to create a Frank Capra utopia. The only reason I haven't signed up to join a movement like ISIL is because of the moderate severity of my symptoms due to the extent of my cerebral palsy, but this is no indicator of my lack of willingness to engage in insurrection against the US if I had the physical skill and ability to do so. This is how deep my anger runs, but I lack the requisite skills, and for all of his methodical ability, the DC sniper, who had the requisite skills, allowed himself to get caught rather than build a following.
Jennifer referenced conservative hysteria over the gay marriage ruling. I have no hysteria. We all knew that once states began recognizing same sex unions, those states that resisted would fall due to interstate commerce clauses. I am not against gay marriage. I am against homosexual practices being given equality with heterosexual intercourse and its ability to propagate the species. Forcibly erasing the genealogy of the past, to reference Foucault, whose sexual practices made him one of the earliest French sacrifices to AIDS, is worse than any reactionary crimes perpetuated in its name. As my digestive system is stressing, and I need to solve my bathing mobility over the weekend, we'll leave it there, but rest assured, I've been turning over stones in my wearied mind frame. Pansies are no doubt celebratory that I'm weakened to such an extent.
If the GOP does not want to be the Doesn’t Get It party, it better start acting like it respects all Americans. http://t.co/IjoZCYj5O4

Exeunt With The Bear
I'm like a connoisseur of champagne cognac, the perfume nearly beats the taste. Pete Townsend, Empty Glass
I spent a very unproductive day chasing after these Tuesday, trapezing on Locust, which I rarely do, kicking myself over my imposing introduction to @PhillyTechGuy. Could have cut my crisis time in half. Possibly saved a few dollars. Getting laid momentarily crossed my mind; their pitch is accurate, however, and the store seems pleasant. Do I ever drop my pretense?
I was not as invested in Dorner's issues as my posts on the event he posed may seem to indicate, not in terms of taking him off the beat and assessing his impaired judgment, but had he escaped it would have been thrilling. The DC sniper scared the living shit out of the east coast. I was there, and like a substantial minority in the media, I thought the US faced the possibility of an insurrection. Muhammad's death was nearly sanctifying in light of that possibility. Dorner's? Idiotic. It seems apropos then that I came in a little late to The Following. Better production values than the CW's tacky rival. Bacon when he is on, solidly grounded. Emma is an elfin echo of Mia Farrow. Muhammad could have had an insurrection; he was methodical enough, cold enough, and this is what made the true aspect of humanity's universal tendency to close ranks behind authoritarianism rear its head against Dorner. He was one of the very few who could boast leverage; he succeeded in illustrating that but had no real contingency thought out so that the abused, the wronged, the angry, could have united behind him. I certainly would have, all things being equal, had he truly applied his intelligence as opposed to raving on FB. Many courageous historians point out, accurately, that the US is democratic in its rhetoric, and tyrannical in practice, re: the moment I committed to paper that I would be seeking legal action against my landlord, they started leaving me alone. After 28 years of dictation on how they want me to live, Presby and their regulators have gone mute, one, because they are fully aware that in their book, spastic has no civil liberties, and two, they are up to no good, so I really need a public housing attorney. Injuries may magnify, but sometimes they have legitimate cause, and my pain is in part a reaction against black bigotry, with their white managers pulling the strings. Presby suits are far more fearsome than Catholic molesters. Let Karen chaw a pithy tweet out of that contention.

Chased by a bear
Fiendish and caustic this afternoon to the point that Mekhi might consider strangulation too dignified for glittering bitterness, his stint as Othello the baller was outrageously too self-conscious, and the play is the least liked of the great tragedies. Nelson and Kaaya locked themselves in an inflationary reverence which is not served by the sinister pathos of the Elizabethan staged original. I should just stop here and go back to bed and finish charging there, as I have to make my first run to Walgreens later this evening to purchase a starter kit, and yet I persist here and not sure why I do so, as I surfed to my url on my kindle, a free view, why bother to pay Amazon to download? What is the value I offer? Am I going to do real time profiles and engage in an integrated dark genius? Will Google allow me to re install Ad Sense once I close my other account if I can figure out what the fuck I am doing? Not if I was ready to celebrate Dorner's anarchy if it had been better planned. I wanted the man to win, to beat the system, and instead he murdered a beautiful woman and her fiance for the emptiness of hollow taunts, allegedly. I thought Navy Seals were precision experts, technically lethal and able to achieve valid goals, and this event was nothing, modern spree madness, death by every law enforcement agency this country is able to utilize. Stupid bastard. We're all stupid bastards, and my excuse is diabolical pity in public housing radiator heat, bags of cat dung, Google keying me into Jerry's email. I should have never contacted him, but did anyway despite the femoral artery bleed. That is how I handle emotional investments.
I may have known about the Orangeburg Massacre before I saw the documentary time slot scheduled for this afternoon, but if I did I buried it. Race riots were one thing, Kent State another, and in a post-9/11 world, civil disobedience, social order and terrorism, these boundaries have been splintered into a social structure that is unnerving, unsure of itself, looking over its shoulder for the next serial player to defy models and ideology. Is it a problem with identity and community, shared experience?
Yes, but more than that, our systems are outstripping the ability of our biology to cope with it, and we lose perspective, thinking that human means more than it actually does, a highly evolved animal that is no more than that, highly evolved, and I plead guilty to being caught in the crux of that struggle: if we evade extinction in current geological time, I would be astonished, though my identity would long be recycled. Perhaps I was the last saber tooth, fallen to the extraordinary ability of the primate hand.
